About
Me

Amber Kingsbeer is an aspiring filmmaker born in sunny Gisborne and is currently living in Wellington, New Zealand.

Amber is in the third and final year of her Creative Media Production Bachelors degree at Massey University. She has a passion for time-based media specialising in editing and is focused on expanding her colour grading skills.

Amber focused on her sport during high school, but design, photography, and media studies were her passions. In 2017 Amber won the Janine Cantlon cup for excellence in art in Design and Photography.

Amber believes that through films, powerful messages can be portrayed towards audiences and influenced positively, which she is striving to do in her work.

She tends to have out-of-the-box ideas. Amber created the concept for the collaborative short film Going Up while brushing her teeth, which is about a man in an elevator going up to heaven when he should be going down to hell. Amber aims to write more short films like this in the future with the opportunity to collaborate with other inspiring filmmakers.

She is constantly looking for ways to expand her experience. This year, she focuses on doing more hands-on work and networking with others outside of her course. She is aiming to be working in post-production after she graduates.
